Everyone dreams of the day when they can finally design their baby’s nursery, right?! Or maybe, just me 🙂 As so many of you know, Joshua & I battled a hard road of infertility for almost 2 years before getting pregnant and during the process I used to walk in the room we had designated to be the nursery and sit & pray all the time. I dreamt of the day I would be able to fill it with a crib, rocker, and bring our baby home to this room. I can’t believe this dream is becoming a reality. I was so so excited to get started on our baby’s nursery.
As I do with all of my other home projects/renovations, I knew that I wanted to create a design board! Here is what I was working with!
As you guys know, we aren’t finding out the gender until birth so I knew that I wanted to do something a bit gender neutral but I also wanted to make a statement with a board and batten accent wall. Joshua built the entire thing himself and did a great job. We painted the accent wall “Tarragon” by Sherwin Williams. It’s the perfect shade of green/blue in certain lights.
We got this gorgeous Gold Light from Kichler Lighting and it really makes a statement when you walk into the room. I love working with Kichler – their customer service is amazing, the lighting options they provide are trendy yet timeless and they are overall a great company.
Picking out the crib and rocker was probably one of my favorite parts of the process. I knew that I wanted a trendy, yet timeless crib so we went with Lolly crib from Babyletto. I love the way it looks against the accent wall.
When I saw the Nursery Works Sleepytime Rocker in Vegan Leather I had to have it! I thought it would compliment the wall and other elements of the nursery so well. It’s super comfy and I also like that I can easily wipe down anything that spills on it.
We scored our dresser from Ikea but we gave it a facelift with some paint and new hardware. We changed out the regular wood knobs for hardware from Atlas Homewares! Dressing up a nightstand or dresser with new hardware is always such a fun and inexpensive way to change an entire piece up.
I love how everything came together in this room. It’s such a peaceful and calming space! We will be expecting baby soon and I can’t wait for him/her to see their room.
